A Practical Toolkit

The What Matters to Me project demonstrated that more routine engagement with people who have severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities can and should be done and it has highlighted the importance and value of ensuring engagement is truly inclusive for everyone. The project has had an impact on generating interest and willingness to ensure this type of engagement is done more routinely, and to support this through the project, we wanted to develop a range of practical resources that can be used by others.
In addition to the 4 films and project reports hosted on the webpage, we have created a toolkit with simple resources to share key messages and support engagement work. These can be used by family carers and professionals to better include people with severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities in engagement to find out what matters. The toolkit resources also provide ideas on where and how to use these resources.
