A key aim of the CBF is to make sure families get the practical information they need. That’s why we are delighted the National Lottery Community Fund has enabled us to develop a new website as part of our 3 year ‘Getting it Right’ project. The CBF aims to improve the life opportunities and quality of life for children, young people and adults with severe learning disabilities and their families. We do that by providing information, sharing video guides, offering telephone, email and casework support for family carers, and running workshops. The new website means we can offer families and professionals improved access to our information and resources and help make it easier for everyone to champion rights, raise awareness and promote and share best practice.
Viv Cooper, Chief Executive and founder of the CBF, and parent of a young man with severe learning disabilities whose behaviour challenges said: “The CBF aims to create good local support available to everyone, when they need it; the right support in the right place at the right time. We have worked with a range of partners to ensure that families and professionals can find, read and download practical, evidence-based information quickly, wherever they are.”
