25 Years Investing in Families - Share Your Story

On the 14th of February 2022 we marked 25 years of the CBF. Having started in our founder’s garage in 1996 (read more about our history here) we eventually became a registered charity in February 1997 and since have gone on to connect and work with many families and professionals. Our aim was, and remains, to ensure that children and adults with severe learning disabilities- and their families- get the right support in the right place at the right time. Since we started, we have worked with or provided support and information to over 20,000 families and professionals UK wide. We want everyone with severe learning disabilities, whose behaviour challenges, to have the right support and opportunities to live full, happy and active lives.
Although there has been progress for many we know there is still so much more to be done. Working together, individuals, families and professionals, can drive forward the changes that are needed. We are truly grateful for the network of families, professionals, and supporters of all kinds who have worked in partnership with us over the years and who have helped us raise awareness and take steps forward in getting the right support, at the right time and in the right place.
To mark our anniversary, we would love to gather your experiences, memories and celebrations over the past 25 years to record the impact changes have had, what has improved and what still needs action.
