Updated Information Resources

The Challenging Behaviour Foundation has a wide range of information resources that we review and update regularly. Several resources have been recently updated:

Specialist Equipment and Adaptations Information Sheet

A resource that describes equipment and adaptations to the home that may benefit children and adults who display challenging behaviour.

Information Directory for Family Carers

Where to find information on a variety of topics related to learning disability and challenging behaviour, such as sleep, continence, holidays and employment. Previously titled ‘Further Information for Family Carers’.

Communication and Challenging Behaviour Information Sheet

About common communication difficulties, other ways of communicating and where to go next.

Mental Health Problems in People with a Learning Disability Information Sheet

About mental health of people with a learning disability, types of mental health problems and ways of supporting or treating people.

Planning for the Future (England) Information Pack

An in-depth information pack about support options, housing, personalisation and transition to adult services. Includes case studies and sources of further information.

One information sheet has been given a new title: Getting the best support package: 10 Top Tips, instead of just ‘10 Top Tips’. The information sheet lists excellent tips written by Prof Luke Clements about how family carers can access their family’s rights to get good support and services for adults with severe learning disabilities.

Click on the titles of the resources above to view or download them; all CBF resources are available in hard copy (free for family carers and at a cost for professionals or charities). We welcome any feedback about our information resources and encourage you to share them with others.
