CBF Launches Photo Competition

The Great Big Little Photo Challenge begins today

Fingerspelling 'challenge'

The Great Big Little Photo Challenge is free to enter. Anyone who can take a photo or be supported to take a photo can join in. Each week for twelve weeks we'll send out a new theme. You can take a picture of anything that represents that theme to you. Whether you send in a photo every week, just once or twice, or take on the challenge as a group you'll be in with a chance to win a prize!

This week the theme is 'challenge'

Amy in training You can interpret this theme however you like. Take a picture of something that represents a challenge to you, however big or small. There are absolutely no wrong answers!

Why we’ve picked this week’s theme

Everybody faces challenges in life. For some children and adults with severe learning disabilities expressing themselves can be a major challenge and they might need help with everyday things like dressing, washing and eating.

Sometimes these communication difficulties cause people to express their wants or needs through their behaviour as some behaviours can be a very effective way for a person to control what is going on around them. (You can read more about what we mean by challenging behaviour here).

For family carers caring for someone with a severe learning disability, it can be a challenge to get the right support for your relative or even to have your views about the care your relative receives taken into account.

As part of our Great Big Little Challenge campaign we’re asking people to take on challenges big and small and help raise money to make a difference to the lives of people with severe learning disabilities and their families across the UK.
