CQC announces new plans for Adult Social Care

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) have just published A Fresh Start for Adult Social Care to transform how the CQC monitors, inspects and regulates adult social care services.

By March 2016 the CQC will be awarding ratings to every care home and adult social care service to help people make informed decisions about their care.

New Chief Inspector for Adult Social Care Andrea Sutcliffe “will be leading CQC’s new approach by making more use of people’s views and by using expert inspection teams involving people who have personal experience of care.”

The CQC will be running a public consultation in spring 2014.
