The Challenging Behaviour Foundation has an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of the Forward Together Project plan (a new 3-year project funded by the National Lottery).
About Us
The Challenging Behaviour Foundation is a registered national charity (based in Kent) that makes a difference to the lives of children and adults with severe learning disabilities whose behaviour challenges, and their families. We have a reputation for driving change at an individual, local, and national level.
Position: Family Carer Project Worker
Hours: 4 hours a week, worked flexibly
Contract:Fixed term contract (to end June 2027)
Salary: We are a living wage employer – the current rate is £12.60 per hour
Location:Home based (you must live in Manchester/Salford)
The Role:
To utilise your lived experience to support the delivery of the Forward Together Project plan to improve services and support for people with severe learning disabilities whose behaviour challenges, and their family carers in the Northwest.
You will:
- Use your experience and local/regional knowledge to identify key individuals, groups and initiatives to engage in the project
- Work collaboratively with family carers and stakeholders, facilitate meetings and implement follow up actions
- Contribute your own lived experience
You will have:
- Lived experience of caring for a relative with severe learning disabilities and behaviour described as challenging
- The ability to create and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with family carers and other stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A passion for making a difference to the lives of individuals with severe learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge, and their families
