Family Linking Scheme

Would you like to talk to another family carer, who has ‘been there’ too?

For a lot of people who care for someone with severe learning disabilities, there are times when you can feel isolated, stressed or worried. A listening ear can make a real difference.

family carer volunteerThe Family Linking Scheme can match you with a family carer Link Volunteer to speak to on the phone regularly. We try to match people based on the age of their relative and the kind of situation they are in.

Link Volunteers are trained to provide emotional support. Having also been in a similar situation, they may be able to offer information and useful ideas. Link volunteers are not expected to advise, produce solutions or answers to all questions.

You can still use the CBF’s Family Support Service if you have a new issue you want to discuss.

To get support through the Family Linking Scheme, please complete this form and return it by email or post (using addresses at the bottom of the form)

Please download the form in PDF if you prefer.
