Everybody Matters Film
In 2011, BBC’s Panorama exposed systemic abuse at Winterbourne View, a private hospital for people with learning disabilities. Winterbourne View is now closed, but hundreds of people still live in places like this, hidden away out of sight and out of mind.
“There’s no doubt that we need to take action to stop these kinds of services being used in this way as dumping grounds as an alternative to developing proper local services for people.” Professor Jim Mansell (who features in the film)
Film exposed it, now let’s use film to change it!
Everybody Matters will be a powerful new film that will provide an urgent call for the support and services that are needed to enable individuals and their families to lead good lives. We have made a short trailer, but we hope to make a 40 minute film that will feature family and professional experience that we can use to influence change.
You can view a 10 minute trailer here
Together we can make this happen
We need at least £25000 to make the film and anyone who donates £25 or more will receive a copy of the DVD when it is released. We are seeking donations from both individuals and organisations and we are delighted that United Response, MacIntyre, Dimensions and Milestones Trust are all supporting the project. Their support along with some very generous individual donations mean that we are well on the way to achieving our target, but we still need your support. You can support us by:
- Making a donation via our Virgin Money Giving page
- Telling your friends, family and colleagues
- "like" our Facebook page

- Tweet about Everybody Matters
- Joining others with a message of support
