David Behan CBE announced as new Care Quality Commission Chief Executive
David Behan CBE, the Director General of Social Care, Local Government and Care Partnerships at the Department of Health, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
David Behan, who is expected to begin the role in July, said that he was “delighted to have been given this opportunity to lead the organisation that takes action where services are poor and unsafe, whilst providing assurance that our health and care services are fit to achieve quality and outcomes for people which are amongst the best in the world.”
The role of Director General of Social Care, Local Government and Care Partnerships at the Department of Health will be temporarily filled by the Director of Social Care Policy, Shaun Gallagher.
